What is TransformLEAD?

The School of Education, University of Bristol (UoB) and the HEAD Foundation Singapore continue their collaborative partnership designed to engage more deeply with issues and challenges of educational leadership. “Transformational Educational Leadership in 21st Century Contexts” or TransformLead represents the ongoing collaboration between these partners.

In 2019, the Ateneo Centre for Educational Development (ACED) became a key partner.

In the year 2023, the tripartite partnership welcomed its newest collaborator: the Security Bank Foundation, Inc (SBFI). Similar to its 2018, pilot project, and the follow-up in 2019, the updated Certificate in Education and Studies in Leadership (CESL©) is the centrepiece of this collaborative endeavour.

What is CESL©?

The Certificate in Education and Studies Leadership (CESL© ) program will be provided by the School of Education, University of Bristol (UoB), United Kingdom with financial and logistical support from The HEAD Foundation (Singapore) alongside the Ateneo Centre for Educational Development (ACED) and the Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI). CESL©  is designed to provide qualified teachers and educational officers in the Philippines with a repertoire of knowledge, skills and dispositions enabling them to implement effective, culturally-based and context-responsive leadership in the school system.

Design Principles

The design principles of CESL©  revolve around three core concepts: (1) the use of blended strategies for leadership learning that balances online and workshop sessions; (2) the application of experiential learning through guided exercises built around problem-based learning (PBL) approaches and (3) the extensive use of Communities of Practice (COPs) through reflection sessions and planned encounters with Critical Friends/Mentors.
